Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Bone-in pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 medium, diced Yellow onion
  • 2 medium, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced Granny Smith apples
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 3 cups Bread cubes
  • 1 teaspoon, finely chopped Fresh sage
  • 1 teaspoon, finely chopped Fresh thyme
  • 0.25 cup, grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper.

Step 3

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sear the pork chops for 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chops and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.

Step 5

Add the sliced apples to the skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.

Step 6

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the bread cubes, sage, thyme, and Parmesan cheese until fully combined and bread cubes are slightly moistened.

Step 7

Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly. Place the seared pork chops on top of the stuffing.

Step 8

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 9

Let the dish rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve the pork chops alongside the apple stuffing for a hearty meal.
