Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup Dry white wine (such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 2 sprigs Fresh thyme (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream (optional, for a creamy sauce)

Directions

Step 1

Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

Step 3

Once the oil is hot, sear the pork chops for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 4

Lower the heat to medium and add the butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Deglaze the skillet by pouring in the white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom with a wooden spoon. Let the wine simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

Step 6

Add the chicken broth to the skillet and stir to combine. Return the pork chops to the skillet, along with any juices that have accumulated on the plate.

Step 7

Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and simmer the pork chops for 10-12 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 8

For a creamier sauce, stir in the heavy cream during the last few minutes of cooking.

Step 9

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and plate them. Continue simmering the sauce for another 2-3 minutes if you’d like a thicker consistency.

Step 10

Pour the white wine sauce over the pork chops and garnish with fresh thyme, if using.

Step 11

Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes or sautéed green beans.
