Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 cup Orange juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon Orange zest
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 pieces Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro (chopped, for garnish)
  • 1 orange Orange slices (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove the chops from the pan and set aside.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4

Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, chicken broth, chipotle chiles in adobo sauce, and honey. Mix well and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.

Step 5

Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Spoon some of the sauce over the top of the chops.

Step 6

Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 12-15 minutes, occasionally spooning the sauce over the chops, until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).

Step 7

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 3-5 minutes on a serving plate.

Step 8

Increase the heat to medium-high and allow the sauce to reduce slightly for 2-3 minutes, until it thickens to your desired consistency.

Step 9

Pour the sauce over the pork chops and garnish with fresh cilantro and orange slices before serving.
