Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6 oz each) salmon fillets
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (grated) fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves (minced) garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 stalks (chopped) green onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic to create the glaze.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water until dissolved and set aside.

Step 3

Heat sesame oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the glaze mixture and simmer gently for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4

Stir the cornstarch slurry into the glaze and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 5

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.

Step 6

Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush half of the prepared glaze generously over the fillets.

Step 7

Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked to your preferred doneness.

Step 8

Halfway through baking (around 6-7 minutes), brush additional glaze onto the salmon for extra flavor.

Step 9

Once the salmon is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 3 minutes.

Step 10

Garnish the salmon with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Serve any remaining glaze on the side as a dipping sauce.
