Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Pork spareribs
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar
  • 0.5 cups Soy sauce
  • 0.5 cups Pineapple juice
  • 0.25 cups Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 2 stalks Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the spareribs into serving-sized pieces if they aren't already pre-cut.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, ketchup, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and ginger. Stir until combined to create the Polynesian sauce.

Step 3

Place the spareribs into the crock pot and pour the Polynesian sauce evenly over the ribs.

Step 4

Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 6-7 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat begins to fall off the bone.

Step 5

Once the ribs are cooked, carefully remove them from the crock pot and transfer them to a serving dish. Cover them with foil to keep warm.

Step 6

Turn the crock pot to high heat. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water together to create a slurry.

Step 7

Stir the cornstarch slurry into the liquid in the crock pot and cook for 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.

Step 8

Pour the thickened sauce over the ribs or serve it as a side for dipping.

Step 9

Garnish the ribs with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve warm and enjoy your Polynesian Crock Pot Spareribs!
