Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 250 grams Ground pork
  • 100 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 50 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 60 milliliters Milk
  • 2 pieces Eggs
  • 2 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil (for frying)
  • 500 milliliters Marinara sauce (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the breadcrumbs to soak up the milk.

Step 2

Add the ground beef, ground pork, Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly with your hands or a wooden spoon until well combined, but do not overmix.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about the size of a golf ball, and place them on a tray or clean surface.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Step 5

Cook the meatballs for about 5 minutes on each side, turning them carefully with tongs or a spatula, until they are browned and fully cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 70°C (160°F).

Step 6

Remove the cooked meatballs from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 7

If serving with marinara sauce, heat the sauce in a saucepan and simmer the cooked meatballs in the sauce for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Step 8

Serve the meatballs hot as an appetizer, or pair them with pasta or crusty bread for a hearty meal. Enjoy!
