Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Taco seasoning
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 4-ounce can Green chilies, diced
  • 4 large pieces Flour tortillas
  • 0.5 cups Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 0.75 cups Heavy cream
  • 0.5 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Season the chicken breasts with taco seasoning on both sides.

Step 3

In a medium skillet, cook the chicken breasts over medium heat until fully cooked (about 6-8 minutes per side). Remove from heat, let rest for 5 minutes, and shred the chicken using two forks.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, green chilies, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well mixed.

Step 5

Place a large flour tortilla on a flat surface and add about 1/4 of the chicken mixture to the center. Fold the sides of the tortilla in, then roll it tightly to form a burrito. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.

Step 6

In a deep skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, gently place the prepared burritos seam-side down into the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a baking sheet.

Step 7

Transfer the burritos to the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes to ensure they are heated through.

Step 8

While the burritos are baking, prepare the cheese sauce by melting the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

Step 9

Remove the burritos from the oven and place them on serving plates. Generously spoon the cheese sauce over each burrito.

Step 10

Serve immediately with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, salsa, or chopped cilantro. Enjoy!
