Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French baguette
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves
  • 300 grams Cremini mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 30 grams Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme leaves
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices on a slight diagonal to create longer pieces. You should get about 12 slices.

Step 3

Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 4

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp. Remove from oven and set aside.

Step 5

While the bread is toasting, mince the garlic and finely chop the parsley. Clean and slice the cremini mushrooms into thin pieces.

Step 6

In a large skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat.

Step 7

Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Step 8

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and stir well. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are golden brown and tender.

Step 9

Stir in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, thyme leaves, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until the mixture is creamy and well combined. Remove from heat.

Step 10

To assemble, spoon the mushroom mixture generously over each toasted baguette slice.

Step 11

Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh parsley and additional grated Parmesan if desired.

Step 12

Serve immediately and enjoy your savory Mushroom Crostini!
