Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 packet Instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Warm water
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 cup Pizza sauce
  • 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Pepperoni slices
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.

Step 2

Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until the dough comes together.

Step 3

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise for 20 minutes in a warm spot.

Step 5

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 6

After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.

Step 7

Cut the dough into 6x6-inch squares (approximately).

Step 8

Spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce onto one half of each square, leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 9

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese and add a few pepperoni slices on top of the sauce.

Step 10

Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a pocket and press the edges together to seal.

Step 11

Crimp the edges with a fork to ensure a tight seal and transfer the pockets to the prepared baking sheet.

Step 12

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and 1 tablespoon of water to create an egg wash.

Step 13

Brush the tops of each pocket with the egg wash to help them brown beautifully in the oven.

Step 14

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until the pizza pockets are golden brown.

Step 15

Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
