Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 100 grams Mozzarella cheese
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 12 pieces Pepperoni slices
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 100 grams Pizza sauce
  • 8 leaves Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 teaspoons Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until fully incorporated.

Step 2

Divide the beef into 8 equal portions and flatten each portion into a round patty about 1 cm (1/2 inch) thick.

Step 3

Place a small handful of shredded mozzarella cheese in the center of four patties. Carefully top with another patty and seal the edges by pinching them together to encase the cheese fully. Repeat for all four stuffed patties.

Step 4

Heat a skillet or grill over medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the meat is thoroughly cooked and the cheese inside is melted.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, heat another small non-stick skillet with the remaining 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Fry each egg individually until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, unless a fully cooked yolk is preferred.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns lightly on a skillet or grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Step 7

Spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Lay one cooked patty on top, followed by 3 slices of pepperoni, a fried egg, and 2 fresh basil leaves.

Step 8

Top with the other half of the bun. Optionally, secure the burger with a skewer or toothpick.

Step 9

Serve warm with a side of fries, salad, or your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy the gooey, cheesy goodness of your Pizza Eggburger!
