Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 16 pieces pepperoni slices
  • 6 leaves fresh basil leaves

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Step 2

Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board and pound them to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch, using a meat mallet or rolling pin.

Step 3

Brush both sides of the chicken breasts with olive oil, then season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried oregano.

Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. They do not need to be fully cooked as they will finish cooking in the oven.
