Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef
  • 1.5 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 cup Marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 pieces Burger buns
  • 16 pieces Pepperoni slices
  • 2 tbsp Butter (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a large skillet or grill to medium-high heat.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Step 3

Form the mixture into 8 evenly sized patties.

Step 4

Cook the patties in the preheated skillet or grill for 4-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 5

Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest while preparing other ingredients.

Step 6

In a small saucepan, warm the marinara sauce over low heat.

Step 7

Slice the burger buns if not already pre-sliced. Optional: Lightly butter the cut sides and toast them on the grill or in a skillet for added flavor.

Step 8

Assemble the pizza burgers: Place one cooked patty on the bottom half of each bun. Spread a spoonful of marinara sauce over the patty, followed by a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese and a small amount of grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 9

Top each patty with 2 slices of pepperoni.

Step 10

Place the assembled burger (without the top bun) under a broiler or in an oven at 375°F (190°C) for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 11

Add the top half of the burger bun and serve immediately. Optionally, you can serve with a side of fries or a simple green salad.
