Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces Baked beans (canned)
  • 8 ounces Crushed pineapple (canned, drained)
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Paprika

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat and add the ground beef.

Step 3

Season the beef with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Break up the meat with a spoon as it cooks.

Step 4

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is tender and translucent.

Step 5

Drain any excess grease from the skillet and remove it from heat.

Step 6

In a large mixing bowl, combine the baked beans, drained pineapple, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and paprika. Mix until well incorporated.

Step 7

Add the cooked beef and onion mixture to the bowl with the bean mixture. Stir thoroughly to combine.

Step 8

Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.

Step 9

Place the dish in the preheated oven on the middle rack and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 11

Serve warm as a main dish or as a side alongside cornbread or a crisp green salad.
