Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground pork
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 4 slice Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 strip Bacon strips
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 0.25 cup Barbecue sauce
  • 4 leaf Lettuce leaves
  • 8 slice Tomato slices
  • 8 slice Pickle slices
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, breadcrumbs, and the egg. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Step 2

Divide the pork mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties, slightly larger than the buns as they will shrink during cooking.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 4

Cook the bacon strips in the skillet until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Set them aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Step 5

In the same skillet, cook the pork patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C).

Step 6

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.

Step 7

Lightly toast the burger buns in another pan or on a grill for a minute or two until golden brown.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers: Spread barbecue sauce on the bottom half of each bun, then layer with a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, the cheesy pork patty, a strip of crispy bacon, pickle slices, and then top with the other half of the bun.

Step 9

Serve immediately with your favorite sides like fries or coleslaw, and enjoy your delicious Pig Burger!
