Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20)
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 4 Cheddar cheese slices
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, diced
  • 0.25 cup Red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 Jalapeño, minced (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 tsp Salt (for Pico de Gallo)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, jalapeño (if using), lime juice, and salt. Mix well to make the Pico de Gallo and set aside.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.

Step 3

Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1 inch thick. Use your thumb to create a shallow dimple in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.

Step 4

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with olive oil.

Step 5

Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip them over and cook for another 2 minutes, then place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover the pan with a lid or piece of foil for 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese.

Step 6

Toast the hamburger buns briefly in the same pan until golden brown.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun. Spoon a generous amount of Pico de Gallo on top of the melted cheese.

Step 8

Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately. Enjoy your Pico De Gallo Garlic Burgers with a side of fries or a fresh salad!
