Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 cloves Garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a medium-sized skillet over low heat and pour in the olive oil.

Step 2

Once the oil is warm (not hot), add the minced garlic. Stir frequently and cook for 2-3 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 3

Add the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for another 30 seconds to release their aroma.

Step 4

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.

Step 5

Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. If desired, stir in the lemon juice for a hint of brightness.

Step 6

Use the garlic and oil sauce immediately by tossing it with cooked pasta, or serve as a dip or drizzle. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
