Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 4 oz Diced green chilies (canned)
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 10 pieces Small flour tortillas
  • 1 as needed Cooking spray
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 0.5 cup Sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • 0.5 cup Salsa (optional, for serving)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until fully browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3

Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the spices to fully coat the turkey.

Step 4

Add the diced green chilies to the skillet and stir. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

Step 5

Lay out the tortillas on a clean work surface. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the turkey mixture onto the bottom third of each tortilla. Sprinkle 1-2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese over the turkey.

Step 6

Roll each tortilla tightly, forming a thin, cigar-like shape, and place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 7

Lightly spray the flautas with cooking spray to help them crisp up in the oven.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden and crispy.

Step 9

Remove the flautas from the oven and let them cool for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Step 10

Serve warm with sour cream, salsa, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro for garnish, if desired.
