Ingredients

  • 300 g Leftover pie dough
  • 50 g Unsalted butter, softened
  • 100 g Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Milk

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Roll out the leftover pie dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle approximately 12x10 inches (30x25 cm) in size.

Step 3

Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough.

Step 4

Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the buttered dough, ensuring full coverage. Then sprinkle ground cinnamon over the sugar.

Step 5

Starting from one of the longer edges, tightly roll the dough into a log, similar to rolling a cinnamon roll.

Step 6

Using a sharp knife, trim the uneven ends of the roll, then slice the log into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick rounds.

Step 7

Place the rounds (cut side up) onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.

Step 8

Lightly brush the tops of the rounds with milk to encourage browning during baking.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and caramelized.

Step 10

Remove from the oven and allow the pastries to cool for 10 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 11

Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy these flaky, sugary treats.
