Slice the ciabatta bread pieces in half horizontally, creating top and bottom halves for the sandwiches.
Spread 1 tablespoon of fresh basil pesto on the cut side of each bread half.
Slice the mozzarella cheese into even pieces and the large tomato into thin rounds.
