Spread 1 teaspoon of unsalted butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
Flip the slices over and spread 1 tablespoon of basil pesto evenly on the unbuttered sides.
Cut the brie cheese into thin slices and layer it evenly over one slice of bread on the pesto side.
