Ingredients

  • 400 grams All-purpose flour
  • 7 grams Yeast
  • 10 grams Sugar
  • 5 grams Salt
  • 250 milliliters Warm water
  • 60 grams Natural yogurt
  • 30 milliliters Vegetable oil
  • 50 grams Ground almonds
  • 50 grams Desiccated coconut
  • 60 grams Golden raisins
  • 50 grams Butter, melted

Directions

Step 1

Combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and salt.

Step 3

Add the yogurt and vegetable oil to the flour mixture. Mix by hand or with a mixer on low speed.

Step 4

Gradually add the yeast mixture while mixing until a dough forms.

Step 5

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it's smooth and elastic.

Step 6

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Step 7

Preheat your oven to the highest temperature (around 230°C or 450°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up as well.

Step 8

For the filling, mix the ground almonds, desiccated coconut, and golden raisins in a bowl.

Step 9

Once the dough has risen, divide it into 4 equal parts.

Step 10

Roll out each piece of dough on a floured surface to form an oval shape about 1cm thick.

Step 11

Place a generous tablespoon of the filling mixture in the center of each oval.

Step 12

Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges. Gently roll it out again to maintain the oval shape.

Step 13

Transfer the naans to a baking tray or hot pizza stone.

Step 14

Bake each naan for 6-8 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

Step 15

Brush the hot naans with melted butter before serving.
