Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef or lamb
  • 2 medium-sized Potatoes
  • 1 medium-sized Onion

  • 3 tablespoons Breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

Wash and peel the potatoes, then boil them in salted water until fork-tender. Drain and allow them to cool.

Step 2

Grate the cooled potatoes using the coarse side of a box grater and set aside.

Step 3

Peel and finely grate the onion. Place the grated onion in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out the excess moisture.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, grated potato, grated onion, crushed garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, turmeric, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
