Ingredients

  • 500 grams Chicken livers
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 3 tablespoons Peri peri sauce
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Clean and trim the chicken livers, removing any connective tissue. Rinse and pat them dry with paper towels.

Step 2

Heat a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Step 3

Once the butter has melted, add the finely chopped onion. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened and translucent.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic, red chili flakes, and smoked paprika to the pan. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Step 5

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the chicken livers to the pan. Sear them for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are browned but still slightly pink inside.

Lower the heat to medium and stir in the peri peri sauce, heavy cream, and chicken stock. Mix well to combine.
