Ingredients

  • 170 grams unsalted butter
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 150 grams light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 125 grams all-purpose flour
  • 60 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 150 grams semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line an 8x8 inch (20x20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, leaving enough overhang on the sides for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once fully melted, allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before continuing.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and glossy.

Step 4

Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5

Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 7

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly with the spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (but not wet batter).

Step 9

Remove the pan from the oven and allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Step 10

Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan. Slice them into 12 equal pieces and enjoy!
