Ingredients

  • 300 g Dark chocolate
  • 200 g Powdered sugar
  • 30 g Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 tsp Peppermint extract
  • 2 tbsp Heavy cream
  • 1 pinch Salt

Directions

Step 1

Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or use silicone molds for easier removal.

Step 2

Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly until smooth.

Step 3

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of melted chocolate into each muffin cup, tilting the cups to coat the bottom and sides evenly. Reserve the remaining chocolate for later.

Step 4

Place the tin in the freezer for about 5 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.

Step 5

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, softened butter, peppermint extract, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt. Mix until you achieve a smooth and pliable dough-like consistency. This will form the peppermint filling.

Step 6

Divide the peppermint filling into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small disc that fits comfortably inside the chocolate-lined cups.

Step 7

Place a peppermint disc into each chocolate cup, gently pressing it down to flatten slightly.

Step 8

Spoon the remaining melted chocolate over the peppermint filling to cover it fully and seal the edges. Use a small spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth the top.

Step 9

Return the muffin tin to the freezer for about 10 minutes, or until the chocolate has completely hardened.

Step 10

Remove the Peppermint Patty Cups from the liners or molds and store them in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for a firmer texture.

Step 11

Serve and enjoy!
