Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 4 cups Powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint extract
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 drop Green or red food coloring (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment to beat the unsalted butter on medium speed until light and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 2

Gradually add the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition to avoid a powdered sugar cloud. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 3

After all the powdered sugar is incorporated, add the heavy cream, peppermint extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix on medium speed until the frosting is smooth and fluffy, about 1-2 minutes.
