  • 400 grams canned crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 2

While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Finely chop the garlic cloves and add them to the skillet. Sauté the garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
