Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 0.5 cup Unsalted butter
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat until the butter is melted.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to low and add the flour all at once. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth dough and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Step 4

Transfer the dough to a large mixing bowl and let it cool for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, until the mixture is smooth and glossy.

Step 6

Spoon or pipe 12 mounds of dough (about 2 tablespoons each) onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Step 7

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cream puffs are golden brown and puffed. Remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 8

In a chilled mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.

Step 9

Slice each cream puff in half horizontally and fill with the whipped cream using a spoon or piping bag.

Step 10

Dust the tops with powdered sugar before serving.
