Ingredients

  • 10 cups Brioche or challah bread
  • 3 cups Whole milk
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Packed light brown sugar
  • 5 large Eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Pecans, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup Irish cream liqueur
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.

Step 2

Cut the brioche or challah bread into 1-inch cubes and spread them evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth and well combined.

Step 4

Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes, pressing the bread gently with the back of a spoon or your hands to soak up the liquid. Let it sit for 15 minutes to absorb.

Step 5

Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the top of the bread pudding.

Step 6

Dot the top with small pieces of the 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter.

Step 7

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set, but still slightly soft.

Step 8

While the bread pudding is baking, prepare the Irish cream sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together the Irish cream liqueur and powdered sugar over medium heat until smooth and slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 9

Once the bread pudding is finished baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Step 10

To serve, drizzle warm Irish cream sauce over individual portions of the bread pudding. Optional: Garnish with additional chopped pecans or a dollop of whipped cream.
