Ingredients

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 cups pecans (chopped)
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter (reserve 2 tablespoons of melted butter for later). Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.

Step 3

Press the graham cracker mixture firmly into the prepared baking pan to create an even crust. Use the back of a spoon to smooth it out. Bake the crust for 8–10 minutes, then set aside to cool slightly.

Step 4

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, reserved 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and heavy cream. Stir continuously until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer, about 3–4 minutes.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and chopped pecans. Mix well to coat the pecans evenly.

Step 6

Pour the caramelized pecan mixture over the baked graham cracker crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Step 7

Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 12–15 minutes, or until the pecan topping is bubbling and golden brown.

Step 8

Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature. Once cooled, transfer the pan to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to firm up.

Step 9

Using the parchment paper overhang, lift the pecan graham'slab out of the pan. Cut into squares or bars using a sharp knife.

Step 10

Serve and enjoy! Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
