Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 0.5 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cups Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a tube or bundt pan.

Step 2

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, using an electric hand mixer or stand mixer, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5

On low speed, gradually add the sour cream and milk to the wet ingredients, alternating with the dry ingredients. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix just until combined to avoid overmixing.

Step 6

Fold in the pecans and chocolate chips using a rubber spatula until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 9

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before carefully inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 10

Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
