Ingredients

  • 150 grams Unsalted butter
  • 200 grams Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams Granulated sugar
  • 50 grams Light brown sugar
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 100 grams All-purpose flour
  • 30 grams Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 100 grams Pecans, roughly chopped

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease or line a 9x9-inch (23x23 cm) square baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, light brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Step 4

Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture into the egg-sugar mixture, whisking continuously until smooth and glossy.

Step 5

In another bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt. Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula, mixing just until no streaks of flour remain. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Gently fold in the chopped pecans, reserving a small handful for sprinkling on top if desired.

Step 7

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. If reserved, sprinkle the remaining pecans over the top.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (do not overbake!).

Step 9

Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing into 12 squares or rectangles.

Step 10

Serve and enjoy your rich, nutty pecan brownies!
