Ingredients

  • 150 grams Unsalted butter
  • 100 grams Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 250 grams All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoons Ground cardamom
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground white pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, using a hand mixer or stand mixer.

Step 3

Add the heavy cream to the butter and sugar mixture, and mix until well combined.

Step 4

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground white pepper.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a firm dough forms.

Step 6

Turn the dough out onto a clean work surface and knead it briefly until smooth. If it’s too sticky, add a small amount of flour, one tablespoon at a time.

Step 7

Divide the dough into small portions and roll each into a thin log, about 1 cm (0.4 inches) in diameter.

Step 8

Cut the logs into small pieces, about 1 cm (0.4 inches) long, and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spaced slightly apart.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden.

Step 10

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheets. They will harden as they cool.

Step 11

Once cooled, store the cookies in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
