Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh or frozen green peas
  • 0.5 cup Raw or roasted peanuts (unsalted)
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil (vegetable or peanut oil)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 unit Green chili (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh cilantro (chopped)

Directions

Step 1

If using frozen peas, thaw them by rinsing under warm water or microwaving for a minute. Drain well and set aside.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat.

Step 3

Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds to the hot oil. Allow them to sizzle and pop for about 30 seconds.

Step 4

Stir in the green chili and minced garlic, and sauté for 1 minute until aromatic.

Step 5

Add the turmeric powder and mix well.

Toss in the green peas and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they are tender and vibrant.
