Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1.5 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes

Directions

Step 1

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the peanut butter and soy sauce.

Step 2

Whisk the mixture until the peanut butter begins to thin out and combine with the soy sauce.

Step 3

Stir in the rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil. Continue whisking until smooth.

Step 4

Grate the fresh ginger using a fine grater and add it to the mixture along with the minced garlic.

Step 5

Add water a tablespoon at a time, whisking continuously, until the marinade reaches your desired consistency.

Step 6

Sprinkle in the red chili flakes and stir to combine. Adjust the chili flakes to taste for more or less spice.

Step 7

Taste the marinade and optionally adjust seasoning by adding a touch more soy sauce for saltiness or honey for sweetness.

Step 8

Use immediately to marinate meats, tofu, or vegetables, or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
