Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Apples (medium, firm varieties like Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • 4 tablespoons Peanut butter (natural and unsweetened preferred)
  • 4 tablespoons Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 4 tablespoons Raisins
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
  • 1 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish large enough to fit the apples with space in between.

Step 2

Wash and core the apples using an apple corer or a small paring knife, being careful not to cut all the way through to the bottom. Create a hollow space to hold the filling, about 1 inch wide.

Step 3

In a small mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, chocolate chips, raisins, and cinnamon. Stir well until evenly mixed.

Step 4

Stuff each apple with the peanut butter mixture, pressing it down gently to fill the hollow completely.

Step 5

Place the stuffed apples upright in the baking dish. Pour the water into the bottom of the dish to prevent the apples from sticking and to create steam while baking.

Step 6

If desired, drizzle the tops of the stuffed apples with honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness.

Step 7

Bake the apples in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until they are tender but still holding their shape. The skin may wrinkle slightly, and the filling should be gooey and aromatic.

Step 8

Remove the apples from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy them warm as a dessert or snack!
