  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons Red chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 10 pieces Black peppercorns
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 6 pieces Cloves
  • 2 pieces Bay leaves
  • 1 to taste Salt
  • 0.5 cup Fresh coriander leaves
  • 3 tablespoons Ghee (clarified butter)
  • 8 cups Water
  • 1 medium Lemon

Directions

Step 1

Clean the goat trotters thoroughly under running water to remove any excess hair or dirt.

Step 2

In a large pot, heat ghee over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

Step 3

Stir in the ginger garlic paste and cook for 2-3 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

Step 4

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 5

Add the trotters to the pot and stir thoroughly until they are coated with the spice mixture.

Step 6

Add black peppercorns, cinnamon stick, cloves, bay leaves, and salt. Mix well.

Step 7

Pour in 8 cups of water and bring to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer slowly for about 4 hours. Stir occasionally.

Step 8

After 4 hours, the trotters should be tender, and the soup should be rich and flavorful. You can add more water if the soup becomes too thick.

Step 9

Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt if necessary.

Step 10

Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

Step 11

Serve hot with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for added flavor.
