  • 4 large Egg whites
  • 200 grams Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon White vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Trace a 20 cm (8-inch) circle on the parchment as a guide, then flip the parchment over.

Step 2

In a large, clean mixing bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to beat the egg whites and a pinch of salt on medium speed until soft peaks form.

Step 3

Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat on medium-high speed. Ensure each addition is fully dissolved before adding the next. This process should take about 8-10 minutes. The meringue should be glossy and form stiff peaks.

Sift the cornstarch over the meringue and gently fold it in. Add the white vinegar and vanilla extract, folding carefully to avoid deflating the meringue.
