Ingredients

  • 8 pounds fully cooked bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 6 slices pineapple rings
  • 6 pieces maraschino cherries
  • 12 pieces toothpicks

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

Step 2

Place the ham, flat side down, in a large roasting pan.

Step 3

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.

Step 4

While the ham is baking, prepare the glaze by combining the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and ground cloves in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Set aside.

Step 5

After the first hour of baking, remove the ham from the oven and brush it generously with half of the prepared glaze.

Step 6

Secure pineapple rings to the surface of the ham with toothpicks, placing a maraschino cherry in the center of each pineapple ring.

Step 7

Return the ham to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 30 minutes.

Step 8

After 30 minutes, brush the ham with the remaining glaze and continue baking for another 30 minutes. The total cooking time should be approximately 2 hours, or 15 to 20 minutes per pound of ham.

Step 9

Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes before carving.

Step 10

Slice and serve warm, garnished with the pineapple rings and cherries.
