Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cup Butter (softened)
  • 3 tablespoons Crème de menthe liqueur
  • 6 ounces Semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup Butter (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a saucepan, melt the unsweetened chocolate and 1 cup of butter over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Beat until well combined.

Step 4

Gradually blend in the melted chocolate mixture into the egg and sugar mixture.

Step 5

Stir in the flour and salt until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.

Step 6

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few crumbs. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Step 8

For the mint layer, beat the powdered sugar and 1/2 cup softened butter together in a mixing bowl on medium speed until fluffy. Gradually add the crème de menthe liqueur and beat until smooth.

Step 9

Spread the mint frosting over the cooled brownies, creating an even layer. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.

Step 10

For the chocolate glaze, melt the semisweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup butter in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Let it cool slightly, but not so much that it hardens.

Step 11

Pour the glaze over the mint frosting layer and spread it evenly with a spatula.

Step 12

Refrigerate the brownies for at least 1 hour, or until the glaze is set.

Step 13

Cut into 16 squares and serve. Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator.
