Ingredients

  • 6 whole Roma tomatoes
  • 3 whole Jalapeño peppers
  • 2 whole Serrano peppers
  • 1 whole Habanero pepper
  • 1 whole Small white onion
  • 2 whole Garlic cloves
  • 0.5 cup Cilantro leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground cumin

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven's broiler to high and position a rack about 6 inches from the heat source.

Step 2

On a baking sheet, place the Roma tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, Serrano peppers, habanero pepper, onion (quartered), and unpeeled garlic cloves.

Step 3

Drizzle the olive oil over the vegetables and toss to coat evenly.

Step 4

Broil the vegetables for 8-10 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they are charred and soft. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 5

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the vegetables cool slightly. Peel the garlic and remove the stems from all peppers.

Step 6

In a blender or food processor, combine the broiled vegetables, cilantro leaves, lime juice, salt, and cumin.

Step 7

Pulse the blender until the mixture reaches your desired salsa texture. For a chunkier salsa, pulse fewer times; for a smooth salsa, blend longer.

Step 8

Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning with more salt or lime juice if needed.

Step 9

Transfer the salsa to a bowl and let it sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 10

Serve with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for your favorite dishes. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
