Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Beef sirloin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 large Yellow onion
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 cup Sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 12 ounces Egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and season with salt and ground black pepper.

Step 2

Toss the beef strips with the all-purpose flour to coat them lightly.

Step 3

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil. Add the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding, and cook until browned on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter. Add the diced yellow onion and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onions are soft and the mushrooms are golden brown.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional minute, stirring constantly to avoid burning.

Step 6

Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet for extra flavor.

Step 7

Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir to combine. Cover the skillet and let it simmer gently for 10 minutes to tenderize the beef.

Step 8

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream and Worcestershire sauce. Make sure the sauce is well combined and heated through, but don’t let it boil to prevent the sour cream from curdling.

Step 9

In a separate pot, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 10

Serve the beef stroganoff over the cooked egg noodles, garnished with freshly chopped parsley for a burst of freshness.
