Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.5 lb Italian sausage, casing removed
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1.5 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let them soak for 5 minutes.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, Italian sausage, soaked breadcrumbs, eggs, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Step 4

Mix the ingredients together gently using your hands or a spoon until just combined. Do not overmix to keep the meatloaf tender.

Step 5

Transfer half of the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down slightly to form an even layer.

Step 6

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the layer, leaving a small border around the edges.

Step 7

Cover the mozzarella layer with the remaining meat mixture, pressing it gently to seal in the cheese.

Step 8

Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly on top of the meatloaf.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 10

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 11

Slice and serve with the additional 0.5 cup of marinara sauce on the side. Garnish with extra parsley or grated Parmesan, if desired.
