Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter (softened)
  • 0.5 cups smooth peanut butter
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar (for rolling cookies)
  • 36 pieces chocolate kisses (unwrapped)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, using a hand or stand mixer, cream together the unsalted butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

Step 4

Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well incorporated.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in the 1/4 cup of granulated sugar until evenly coated.

Step 7

Place the sugar-coated dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cookies are set but not browned. Avoid overbaking.

Step 9

Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie, gently pressing down until the edges crack slightly.

Step 10

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 4-5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 11

Serve and enjoy! Store leftover cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
