Ingredients

  • 8 pounds bone-in ham
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 0.5 cup pineapple juice
  • 30 pieces whole cloves
  • 6 pieces pineapple rings
  • 6 pieces maraschino cherries

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).

Step 2

Place the bone-in ham in a large roasting pan, flat side down.

Step 3

Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4-inch deep. Stud the intersections of the diamonds with whole cloves.

Step 4

In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and pineapple juice. Heat over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 5

Brush half of the glaze over the ham, ensuring it gets into the scored lines.

Step 6

Tent the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Step 7

After 1 hour and 30 minutes, remove the foil and baste the ham with half of the remaining glaze. Arrange the pineapple rings on the ham, securing them with toothpicks if needed, and place a maraschino cherry in the center of each ring.

Step 8

Return the ham to the oven uncovered and continue baking for 30 minutes, basting with the remaining glaze halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).

Step 9

Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Step 10

Serve warm with the pineapple and cherries as garnish. Enjoy your holiday feast!
