Ingredients

  • 4 pieces (6-8 ounces each) walleye filets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 pieces lemon wedges
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Pat the walleye filets dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

Step 2

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Mix well.

Step 3

Pour the milk into a second shallow dish.

Step 4

Dip each walleye filet into the milk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat both sides in the seasoned flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot but not smoking.

Step 6

Place the coated filets in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 7

Remove the filets from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 8

Serve immediately, garnished with a sprinkle of chopped parsley if desired, and accompanied by lemon wedges for squeezing over the fish.
