Ingredients

  • 16 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 14.5 oz diced tomatoes (with juice)
  • 1 tbsp italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until soft, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

Step 4

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.

Step 5

Stir in the marinara sauce, diced tomatoes (with juice), Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.

Step 6

In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth and creamy.

Step 7

Place half of the cooked spaghetti in the prepared baking dish. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the spaghetti. Add the remaining spaghetti on top.

Step 8

Pour the meat sauce evenly over the top layer of spaghetti.

Step 9

Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.

Step 10

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 11

Remove the baked spaghetti from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Step 12

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley (if desired) and serve hot. Enjoy!
