Ingredients

  • 2 racks Pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 2 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1.5 cups Barbecue sauce

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven or outdoor grill to 275°F (135°C).

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs if it has not already been removed. This allows the seasoning to penetrate better.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and salt to create the dry rub.

Step 4

Pat the ribs dry with paper towels, then rub both sides generously with the dry rub, ensuring an even coating.

Step 5

Drizzle the olive oil over the ribs and gently rub it in to help the spices adhere.

Step 6

Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil, placing them on a baking sheet or directly on the grill. Cook them for about 2.5 hours, or until they are tender but not falling apart.

Step 7

In the last 30 minutes of cooking, carefully unwrap the ribs and brush them with apple cider vinegar for added moisture and tanginess.

Step 8

Brush a generous layer of barbecue sauce on both sides of the ribs. Increase the oven or grill temperature to 350°F (175°C) and place the ribs directly on the grill grates or uncovered on the baking sheet.

Step 9

Let the ribs cook for 30 more minutes, flipping halfway through and applying an additional layer of barbecue sauce. This step allows the sauce to caramelize and form a sticky, flavorful glaze.

Step 10

Once the ribs are done, remove them from the oven or grill and let them rest for 10 minutes. Slice between the bones and serve hot with your favorite sides.
