Ingredients

  • 400 grams pasta
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 pieces garlic cloves, minced
  • 800 grams canned crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 100 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 200 grams Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until the meat is browned and no pink remains, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
