Ingredients

  • 400 grams Pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 250 grams Smoked sausage (e.g., Kielbasa or Bratwurst)
  • 30 grams Butter
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 200 ml Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Whole grain mustard
  • 50 grams Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Step 2

While the pasta cooks, slice the smoked sausage into thin rounds.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove the sausage and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
